Housing Action Team

People with mental health challenges may face a variety of serious barriers when seeking safe and affordable housing.  Additionally, landlords may (sometime unknowingly) engage in discriminatory practices against tenants and potential tenants with mental health issues.  Because of significant obstacles to finding and maintaining housing, nearly one quarter of homeless individuals live with a severe form of mental illness.  The Everyone Counts Campaign worked with and educated power holders in the housing sector who have influence to impact accessibility and the quality of service delivery for individuals living with mental illness who desire to be safely housed.
